Got my computer serviced for overheating issues, he uninstalled MSI Companion, and now everything is super laggy.
I was having problems with my computer overheating and switching between GPUs while playing steam games, so I went to a local computer shop and let the guy do his thing. charged me $250 for him to uninstall MSI companion, dust everything, and reapply thermal paste. he also somehow deleted the NVIDIA GPU???? so not only did he not fix the problem, most of the games won't even open, saying i need to update drivers and do stuff with nvidia, and the few that I can open are baggy as fuck and give me 9 frames a second. is there anyone who knows how to fix this? I tried reinstalling the MSI companion, but so far is hasn't worked, and Nvidia won't let me install the app because it wants the NVIDIA gpu and I dont know what im doing. tried having my brother help but he didnt know what we were looking at either. Riot games work fine, its honestly just steam games. MSI katana 15 b12vgk, and supposed to have a GeForce rtx 4060 I think? might be 4070.

Need previous vbios for 5080 in Vector 16 HX AI, anywhere to find??
Greetings all! So I was doing some updates, and without thinking updated the Vbios on the Nvidia 5080 from the MSI page without backing up my current version. And while the update went fine, I now get constant black screen of death when playing any game using the 5080. I've spent three days trying to find a fix, have done all sorts of drivers, DDU cleans, and even a fresh Windows install. All with same result, playing a game on the 5080 causes it to crash every time.
So sending out a hail mary here, does anyone have the previous version of the Vbios, know where to download it, or would be willing to share it from a GPU-Z backup?
EDIT: the version I flashed is the newest on the MSI support page, 98.03.A1.00.11 and is the one causing me problems. If others are ready, MAKE SURE YOU BACKUP before trying this new version, but I wouldn't bother at all with it after my experience ha.... system was rock solid before.

Vector 16 A8HW getting a bit hot even though it's new.
hey guys, just got this thing and it works amazingly so far. it's got a couple little quirks that I'm dealing with, but the only main problem I'm having is that the CPU seems to get really hot when it didn't do that in the testing on all the reviews I watched. It gets up to 91 when playing world of Warcraft not even in a raid or anything just kind of wandering around town. The GPU is doing a perfectly fine no issues at all, but the CPU TCTL will be at 91 or 92 off and on. Is this normal? then sometimes when I exit wow, it's a temple shoot up to 90 real quick and then go back down. any thoughts? any tweaking I could do to get the temperatures lower? I'm wanting to make this laptop as efficient as possible so that it lasts as long as possible. already thinking about undervolting, But I was wondering what other things I could do. I saw this one guy post about a different vector 16 where he went into the advanced bios and changed a bunch of stuff, but I didn't have most of the things on my advanced bios page that he was talking about so I have to not to mess with that for now.
do you guys recommend doing any of that stuff or anything tweaking wise to get the most juice and efficiency out of my new laptop?

windows 25h2 messed up my touchpad drivers, help
Hi guys ,i've hit a wall with my touchpad.
I'm running Windows 11 25H2 on an MSI GF63 Thin 10SCSR, and my touchpad has completely stopped working in Windows, although it works perfectly in the BIOS and on my other dual booted Linux.
Te drivers version defaults to Microsoft generic ones 2006 idk why, even tho I tried everything uninstall, installing elan touchpad drivers etc...
What I’ve already tried:
Tried every solution within device manager
EC Resets: Multiple 30-second power button holds.
Driver Injection: Tried pnputil and manual "Have Disk" installs in Test Mode.
Security: Disabled Secure Boot and Memory Integrity.
I2C Bridge: Uninstalled/reinstalled Intel Serial IO I2C Host Controllers.
Even in Test Mode, the OS seems to be blocking the driver handshake.
Any help would be massive!

New laptop options
I know I can very much look up this information, but I really want to know from the people using it. My MSI katana gf66 has a 3050ti gpu it has been okay for a while, but with the newer games, I don't know if it can handle them. I want to get another one that can run most of the new games coming out with high graphics, at least at 60 fps, I don't know if there are any budget friendly options in that range from MSI please help🙏🏼

MSI Capslock Notification Since MSI Center 2.0.66.0 Update FIXED!!!!
Guys! Old Vash is here to help you out. I contacted MSI. They said the capslock notification not being able to be turned off is a mistake in the latest MSI Center update. Just kill this process in task manager: OMAPSVCbroker.exe The problem will stop. Next update they intend to fix the issue. Upvote me and pin me in other chats please so everyone sees the fix.

MSI Vector A16 HX A8W Sporadically Throttles to 0.55ghz on Battery
Hello,
My MSI Laptop with Ryzen 9 8940HX throttles to 0.55ghz when on battery (extremely light usage). It is perfectly fine on the provided 330W charger, but is virtually unusable on battery. I tried an EC reset, a BIOS update, changing power plans in the control panel, updating drivers, and a full Windows factory reset, but nothing worked. It is also very sporadic, as it is sometimes perfectly fine on battery, while other times, it is immediately bricked. Has anyone experienced similar issues? If so, any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Color Mismatch Issue on Vector 16 HX AI A2XW
I own a Vector 16 HX AI A2XW and I am experiencing a serious display color accuracy issue.
The colors on my screen look different compared to other devices and appear oversaturated when content is viewed online or on external displays. This creates major problems when doing color correction in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects, as the exported results do not match what I see on my laptop.
The device is new, and it does not support MSI True Color, so I don’t have access to an sRGB mode or color profile adjustments.
This makes the laptop unreliable for professional editing work.
Is there any official ICC profile, firmware update, or recommended solution to ensure accurate color reproduction?
Thank you.

MSI Katana GF66 Bricked Gaming Laptop Workaround
https://preview.redd.it/b3x5bmu6aqkg1.jpg?width=1500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d482e6e91e64c3d9aaab7bd55ffa6b08ae90ed2f
I say "workaround" in the title as there seems to be no true practical solution to this common MSI Katana GF66 gaming laptop issue.
What many MSI Katana GF66 owners complain about is the abrupt dying of their gaming laptops: The MSI Katana GF66 stops running, completely off, and the Power button on the keyboard doesn't work. Sure, some computer experts can do expensive repairs on the MSI Katana GF66, but I strongly recommend simply using it as a dedicated, stand-alone gaming laptop from now on.
So... here's the workaround, as the other hardware-software checks mentioned by so many users online are already covered... but ineffective.
1. Unplug the 20-volt power source from the MSI Katana GF66.
2. Turn the MSI Katana GF66 upside-down, remove the 13 screws from the underside, and carefully pry off the plastic underside with a thin, sharp knife.
3. Inside, with the MSI Katana GF66 upside down, unplug the 3-volt non-rechargeable lithium CMOS-BIOS-Clock battery. The tiny, cheap battery is very likely dead, or in need of a replacement anyway. The +/- plug for this is fairly universal.
4. Unplug the internal 11.4V Lithium-Polymer battery.
5. Located next to the internal 11.4V Lithium-Polymer battery is the tiny internal Embedded Controller (EC) reset button. Give it a 60-second long-push.
6. And while you're inside the MSI Katana GF66, put a tiny drop of 3-In-One light household oil on the pivot joint of both internal screen hinges, as breaking metal hinges seems to be a common complaint with these MSI Katana GF66 laptops. The hinged lid will now open and close much easier now, which should help.
7. Turn the MSI Katana GF66 to its upright position and, just as a precaution, press and long-hold the Power Button in the upper-right keyboard for 60 seconds.
8. Turn the MSI Katana GF66 upside-down, and plug back in both the 3-volt non-rechargeable lithium CMOS-BIOS-Clock battery, as well as the internal 11.4V Lithium-Polymer battery. A 24-hour discharge waiting period is generally not needed.
9. Replace the plastic underside to a snap-fit into place, leaving the 13 screws out.
10. Turn the MSI Katana GF66 to its upright position, plug in the 20-volt power source, open the lid, and push the Power Button in the upper-right keyboard.
11. Your MSI Katana GF66 will start and restart multiple times until opening to Windows.
12. In your Desktop Taskbar, set the clock time to automatic update.
13. Leave your MSI Katana GF66 on!
14. Turn the MSI Katana GF66 upside-down, and replace the 13 screws in the underside cover.
Important: Standard procedure from now on with the MSI Katana GF66 12UC:
\- Never turn the laptop off again... only Sleep Mode, when not in use, will prevent your MSI Katana GF66 from crashing again! Actually, many home laptop users do just that with their functioning laptops: simply lift the top and begin computing.
\- As this setup bypasses your password, use your MSI Katana GF66 as a dedicated laptop for gaming only, and not for your banking, or any other sensitive and personal applications.
\- Simply close the lid, putting the laptop on sleep mode until needed again.
\- But before doing so, make sure that the laptop battery saving settings are for Sleep Mode, and never Hibernation Mode, as Hibernation Mode will brick your MSI Katana GF66 again, and require a repeat of all the steps above.
\- The Power Button in the laptop keyboard should be considered permanently dysfunctional from now on.
\- If too many such resets are performed, the MSI Katana GF66 laptop will not allow a restart-login for a full 2 hours. So be patient.
\- The MSI Katana GF66 uses 13 watts of power when idle, and 4 watts while in Sleep Mode. And with its OEM 53.5Whr battery, the MSI Katana GF66 can be briefly stored or moved around for a good 24 hours while in Sleep Mode, before having to be plugged in to 20-volts again.
\- The MSI Katana GF66, being a typical gaming laptop,
