Awalnya, Rafah dijanjikan oleh Israel sebagai "safe zone", tapi nyatanya Israel justru mengerahkan pasukannya untuk mengusir para pengungsi di Rafah untuk pindah ke tempat lain. Per 27 Mei 2024 kemarin, lebih dari 36.000 terbunuh sejak hari terjadinya pembantaian di Rafah.
