๐Ÿ“Š Foreign investors take out โ‚น10,000 crore from Indian stock market after Budget ๐Ÿ“Š

๐Ÿ“ฎ   Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) have pulled out almost โ‚น10,710 crore from the Indian stock market in three days since the Union Budget after the government raised taxes on derivatives trades and on capital gains from equity investments. As per stock exchange data, FPIs sold equities worth โ‚น2,975 crore on July 23, another โ‚น5,130 crore on July 24 and โ‚น2,605 crore on July 25. During the same time, domestic institutional investors bought stocks worth around โ‚น6,900 crore since July 23.

The promoters of India Cements approached Ultratech after the financial transaction in June to sell their holding in the company, Ultratech said in a regulatory filing said.

๐Ÿ“ฎ   The government may consider further raising the short-term capital gain (STCG) tax rates in the coming years, a senior government official has said.

๐Ÿ“ฎ   A senior Tata Motors official stated that its British arm Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has no plans to leverage India's new electric vehicle (EV) policy that offers import duty concessions to firms setting up manufacturing units in the country, as it is not suitable for the company.

๐Ÿ“ฎ   The board of Tata Motors has approved the demerger of commercial vehicle business into TML Commercial Vehicles Limited, and announced that the passenger vehicles businesses including PV, EV, JLR and related investments in another entity, the company informed stock exchanges in a filing on August 1.

๐Ÿ“ฎ   The demerger would result in creation of two listed companies with mirror shareholding, one housing the CV business and the other amalgamated company housing the PC business, the company said.
