🗓 On September 25, Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a meeting with Commissioner-General of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Middle East (#UNRWA) Philippe Lazzarini on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
The Officials discussed the current extreme surge of tensions in the Arab-Israeli conflict zone with a focus on humanitarian response priorities in the Gaza Strip. It was noted that the UNRWA played a key role in providing comprehensive relief and support to Palestinians both in the occupied Palestinian territory and neighbouring Arab countries. They stressed the importance for the UNRWA to maintain its historical mandate to secure the refugees and their descendants’ right of return.
They reaffirmed the imperative need for an immediate and universal ceasefire, primarily in Gaza, as a necessary condition for establishing a sustainable and safe humanitarian access to victims and persons in need, releasing hostages and forcibly detained persons, and re-launching the peace process on the generally recognised international legal basis, including the two-state solution.

In fact, it is yet another custom-made campaign, a "witch hunt", when a specially cultivated atmosphere of universal fear and espionage allows the ruling circles in the United States to manipulate public opinion and protect the population from any inconvenient information
🇺🇸 The United States has, in recent times, violated its international commitments in the area of ensuring plurality of opinion and even its own constitutional provisions, effectively declaring a war on freedom of expression around the globe. It has resorted to open threats and intimidation against other states, attempting to incite them to target domestic media and exert sole control over the international information space. Washington cannot tolerate the increasing popularity of the Russian media in many countries, given the one-sided and inaccurate portrayal of events on the planet created by Western mainstream media
🇪🇺 The EU continues its practice of political censorship and the total removal of alternative viewpoints from the information space that contradict the Western narrative. This is yet another example of the EU and its member states' disregard for their international commitments in the area of media pluralism, and it demonstrates the decline of democratic societies within the collective Western countries
