Fear not:
believe only,
and she shall

Soldier, what were you thinking!?
Why did you stab Jesus in the side
with a spear?
_______
🔹🔸🔹
We've got a front row seat at Calvary.
Our reporter on the ground is John.
He tells us everything he saw there.
John was standing near the cross
with Jesus' mother and two other women.
He heard Jesus' final words.
Then Jesus died!
What happened next, is quite shocking.
One of the soldiers decided to double check.
Like, he wasn't sure Jesus had died!
How would he confirm the death?
The soldier had this vicious idea:
Drive a spear into Jesus' chest!!
Whaaat!
How can you do that!?
That's crude!
That's animal.
That's rough.
Well, he did it!
He took a spear and stabbed Jesus
in the side!
You Roman mercenary!
You mean dog!
You uncouth ruffian!
Can't you even see his mother
standing there!?
Wasn't the torture enough?
Now here you go and literally
open his heart out with a nasty
and unnecessary act of violence.
Jesus was ALREADY DEAD!
You didn't have to stab him!
...............................................
But, the Roman soldier did it.
He dared to do a dastardly deed,
to divinity, to God's Son!
................................................
👉👉👉
It was the Roman soldier who did it.
It was the Roman soldier.
It was the Roman ....
It was the ...
Suddenly, someone presses pause.
The screen is still.
Then I realize.
I realize - IT WAS ME!
IT WAS ME!
I was the Roman soldier! 👈👈👈
I am the one who stabbed Jesus side,
with my stubbornness.
I pierced his purpose with my pride.
I punctured his passion with my prodigal pursuits.
I hurt his holiness with the hell in my home.
I broke his heart, with my bad behavior.
I stung his soul with my sin.
It was me!
It was me who pierced Jesus' side.
With the spear of my sin.
That Roman soldier was ... ME!
......................................................
But ... BUT!
HIS BLOOD IS ON MY SPEAR! 👀
When I pierced Him,
immediately blood and water
came out.
🩸💧
My Spear was covered by His Blood!
°
THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST HIS SON
CLEANSES US FROM ALL SIN.
(1 John 1:7)
°
My Spear was covered by His Blood! 👀
NOW ...
The spear of my sin is cleansed
by the very heart that I pierced.
Out of Jesus' heart flowed Blood
and Water.
Forgiveness and Mercy.
Out of Jesus' broken heart
flowed love for the sinner
who stabbed his side.
..................................................

👇
You did it so that His heart would
open, with love, mercy and forgiveness
for every other Roman soldier!
Amen.
