" I Still Struggle with Sin! "

🎀 That's the title
of our Lunch Hour
Preaching Message
today!

πŸ“œ
Genesis 25.22-6
records the birth of
Abraham's grandson,
Jacob.

πŸŽ–πŸ§”πŸΌβ€β™‚
He was born into a great spiritual
lineage, and a heritage of faith.

πŸ€Όβ€β™‚ πŸ’ͺ🏼
But, right from the beginning,
inside his mother's womb,
Jacob started struggling
.
πŸ€Όβ€β™‚
His twin brother Esau,
was in some kind of
wrestling match with him.

πŸ€Όβ€β™‚πŸͺž
His birth,
and the struggles of his life,
are a picture of our own
individual struggles
with sin.

πŸ—“βŒ›οΈ
Years later, he was still struggling
with the inborn situation
that had started at his birth.

⚑️πŸ’ͺ🏼✨
It was when he wrestled with God
and received a change,
that he found peace with Esau.

But God encourages us
even in this.

He is there to help us
in the journey to perfection.

It is marked by struggles with
sin, but "ye have not yet resisted
unto blood, striving against sin".

" The Power of Contentment "

🎀 That's the title

Preaching Message

πŸ“œ
In Psalm 131,
David reached
a point in his life
where he wanted peace.

πŸͺ§
The peace that comes
when the pursuit of things
is removed.

πŸ˜πŸ’¦
Instead of crying
after so many things,
and giving yourself
worry, anxiety and pride,
he found it much better
to rest in contentment.

πŸ’ͺπŸ™‚
Contentment has the power
to produce peace in our souls.

β›“βš‘οΈπŸ”—βœ¨
We are liberated from selfish ambitions,
and egotistic aspirations for greatness.
πŸ₯Ί
Overwhelming desires and wants
are pacified.

πŸ˜€πŸšΆπŸΌβ€β™€πŸšΆπŸ»
We are then free to be happy,
to enjoy the stages of our lives,
and to follow through on God's will
in a wholesome manner.

πŸ’ͺπŸΌπŸ•Š
There is indeed Power
in Contentment.

" Who is my neighbor? "

🎀 That's the title

πŸ“œ
In Luke 10
An expert in the Law
of Moses came up to Jesus
and tested Him with
a deep question about
"eternal life".

πŸ—£
After listening to Jesus' response,
the expert asked a second question,

"Who is my neighbor?"

πŸ›£ πŸšΆπŸ½β€β™‚
To answer this, Jesus gave
a little story about a traveller
who was waylaid by thieves.

β“πŸ“‹
At the end of the story,
it was Jesus turn to ask
the expert a question,

"Which (person) do you think
was neighbor to the mugged
traveller?"

πŸ—£ βœ”οΈ
The Law Expert answered
Jesus question correctly:

"The one who had mercy
on the wounded traveller,
was 'the neighbor'."

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ
And then Jesus told him,
"Go and do the same"

_____________

God is about to give YOU
an opportunity to "do the same"
,
and
help a complete stranger!
