and cried every man unto his god,

and threw out the instruments
that were in the ship
into the sea,

to lighten it of them.

But Jonah was gone down into the sides of the ship;
and he lay, and was fast asleep.

Don't throw it out. 🌊

They were in a storm.

Their solution was,
to throw out valuable vessels,
so that the storm would subside.

Did that help? No.

The storm persisted!

So they took up Jonah,
and threw him out
into the sea:

and the sea ceased from her raging.
(v15)

God's solution worked:

Throw out that which is Not in God's will.

°

But don't throw out your goods.
Your values.
Your valuables.
Your help.
Your instruments.
Your equipment.
Your structure.
Your sustenance.

°
Don't think that
your sacrifice subdues the storm.

Their sacrifice did not subdue the storm.

God's Will silences the Storm.

God's Word stills the Storm!
