In 2 Kings 9

We have a Captain
of the army.

He is called Jehu.

He is chatting outside,
with other military leaders.

°
Suddenly a young prophet
shows up!

He's got a box of oil.

°
He goes into a room
with Jehu ...

... and pours the oil on
his head.
Then says these words:

" Thus Saith
the LORD God of Israel,

I HAVE ANOINTED YOU ..."

We have a turning point
in Jehu's life.

He was anointed with oil
by a prophet.

They described that prophet
as mad!

And sure enough when Jehu
drove his chariot, he drove madly.

°

He already had some "madness"
in him.
And now with the activation
of the oil, he drove to his
divine destiny, with madness.

°

There is a positive side to madness.
Zeal. Energy. Determination.


°

We need to be mad for God.
