But one of the men made a WOUND in his side with a spear,
and straight away there came out blood and water.
John 19:34 (BBE)

The Son of God suffered from a broken heart!
Literally.
A Roman soldier came to the Cross,
where Jesus had died.
But to be double sure he was dead,
the soldier took a spear and pierced
Jesus' side, creating a wound,
and puncturing his heart!
Has your heart been wounded?
Did some uncaring person thrust
a spear of vitriol into your heart?
Did a workmate puncture your
reputation or your good progress?
Did a loved one say something
that hurt your heart?
God understands.
God HEALS.
(Psalm 147:3)
He heals the broken in heart,
and binds up their wounds.
.............................................
But here's a twist in the tale:
Jesus did not actually FEEL
the PAIN of that Roman spear
that pierced his heart!
Why?
He was already DEAD!
Ohh, no wonder Apostle Paul said,
Now if we be DEAD with Christ,
we believe that we shall also
live with him.
(Romans 6:8)
😲
And...
Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
(Romans 6:11)
Okay! 😵
Wait, there's more:

For the love of Christ constrains us;
because we thus judge, that if One died for all,
then were all dead:
(2 Corinthians 5:14)
And ...
For ye are dead,
and your life is hid with
Christ in God.
(Colossians 3:3)
😲
..............................
Christ's birth was miraculous!
Christ's life was amazing!
But Christ's death was an advantage!
When you're dead, you don't feel anything!
The gossip doesn't hurt.
The slander doesn't sting.
The hurtful words and wounds
only serve to humble you, and push
you to the Cross.
You're feeling it, because your old self is too alive!

are all numbered.

One way to understand this,
is to look at a young mother
staring at her new-born baby!
👀
Mother is so fascinated
by the features on the face
of the infant.
She gazes upon the little tiny ears.
She looks endlessly at the child's eyes.
She examines the small little nose.
She even notices the eyebrows.
And ofcourse, she observes the HAIR on baby's head.
She identifies it's texture, notes it's color, checks it's length. Is it curly, is it straight?
She only falls short of literally NUMBERING the strands of hair!
But God DOES!
He has gone so far in His love,
as to intricately NUMBER all the
HAIR on your head!
When a preacher tells you that
GOD Loves YOU,
you can't even begin to understand
how much He cares.
.........................................
For you, knowing the number of hair
on your head, is not consequential.
It doesn't affect anything in your life.
If there's a traffic jam, it doesn't help
to know that you have 15 million hair
strands.
But it does help to know that God cares
about you stuck in traffic, and getting late for your appointment.
How do you know He cares?
Because He cared enough
to number your hair.
Infact as you get older, and your hair
changes color, He notices!
"I will be your God
through all your lifetime,
yes, even when your hair is white with age."
Isaiah 46:4 (TLB)

If he cares about your hair,
then He cares about your heart!
Sad, broken, lonely, anxious, fearful, doubtful?
He has numbered the verses of the Bible to fit any condition that your heart finds itself in.

His love is deep, we're only at the surface.
Dive in!
In to God's Ocean of Love!

Lift your heart to The Lord,
and let Him lead you into
His Plan for your life!
