Abraham didn't hesitate.


He was acquainted with
'faith adventures'.
Trusting God for each step!


Abraham took Isaac and went to
the mountain.

God provided a ram for the sacrifice.

Abraham called that mountain
Jehovah-Jireh.

The Lord will see to it.

But one of the men made a WOUND in his side with a spear,
and straight away there came out blood and water.


John 19:34 (BBE)

The Son of God suffered from a broken heart!

Literally.

A Roman soldier came to the Cross,
where Jesus had died.

But to be double sure he was dead,
the soldier took a spear and pierced
Jesus' side, creating a wound,
and puncturing his heart!


Has your heart been wounded?

Did some uncaring person thrust
a spear of vitriol into your heart?

Did a workmate puncture your
reputation or your good progress?

Did a loved one say something
that hurt your heart?


God understands.


God HEALS.
(Psalm 147:3)

He heals the broken in heart,
and binds up their wounds.

.............................................

But here's a twist in the tale:
Jesus did not actually FEEL
the PAIN of that Roman spear
that pierced his heart!

Why?

He was already DEAD!



Ohh, no wonder Apostle Paul said,

Now if we be DEAD with Christ,
we believe that we shall also
live with him.
(Romans 6:8)
😲

And...
Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
(Romans 6:11)

Okay! 😵

Wait, there's more:

👇
For the love of Christ constrains us;
because we thus judge, that if One died for all,
then were all dead:
(2 Corinthians 5:14)

And ...

For ye are dead,
and your life is hid with
Christ in God.
(Colossians 3:3)
😲

..............................

Christ's birth was miraculous!
Christ's life was amazing!
But Christ's death was an advantage!


When you're dead, you don't feel anything!


The gossip doesn't hurt.
The slander doesn't sting.
The hurtful words and wounds
only serve to humble you, and push
you to the Cross.


You're feeling it, because your old self is too alive!
