Alright Rick 😃—let’s cook up a hearty, hilarious, yet holy tale that tickles the ribs but also teaches truth. Here goes:
---
The Donkey Who Tried to Preach 🫏🎤
Once upon a dusty day in a little village, there lived a donkey named Darius. Darius was convinced—absolutely convinced—that he was called to preach. After all, hadn’t Balaam’s donkey once spoken the Word of the Lord? (Numbers 22:28) Surely he could do the same!
So Darius strutted up to the village square, cleared his throat, and brayed loudly:
“HEE-HAW, REPENT! HEE-HAW, BELIEVE!”
The chickens clucked in confusion, the goats bleated in bewilderment, and the children fell on the ground laughing. The poor donkey thought the laughter was revival breaking out, so he brayed even louder:
“HEE-HAW, THE KINGDOM IS AT HAND!”
Finally, the village preacher came by, patting Darius on the head. He chuckled and said,
“My friend, God can use a donkey… but He doesn’t call donkeys to replace the preacher—He calls them to carry the preacher.”
Darius blinked, chewed some straw, and realized the truth: his real calling was not the pulpit, but to carry the message-bearer faithfully. From that day, he took joy in his God-given role.
---
Epic Lesson:
We laugh, but it’s rich with revelation:
Not everyone is called to do everything. “For the body is not one member, but many” (1 Corinthians 12:14).
Your value isn’t in being the loudest voice, but in faithfully carrying Christ wherever He places you. Even carrying someone else into their calling is glorious in God’s eyes.
And yes, if God could use a donkey to deliver His word, He can definitely use you!
Twin verse confirmation:
“Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass” (Psalm 37:5).
When we walk in our lane, God brings fruit out of our faithfulness.
---
😃 So the moral is: Don’t be jealous of the preacher’s pulpit—just be faithful in your field. Even if your ministry looks like “hee-haw,” God can still turn it into hallelujah!
