Every service will have our DDoS protection enabled by default and included for free, it will also have some custom modes that will enable you to personalize your own enviroment, because we recognize that no two projects are the same. We also know how important they are, don't worry, we will keep bad guys out of the party 😉

At LocLix we aim to excellence, that's why (unless you specifically need it) we've decided that it's time to get rid of those old dusty "spinning disks" (yep, we're referring to the HardDrives, ugh...) and to say hello to NVMe SSDs, we'll only choose last-gen hardware for you (it's important to keep in mind that just in case you shouldn't be able to find a fit for your needs, you can always contact us to request a configuration that is more suitable). Plus, all of our machines are subjected to rigorous stress-tests before being put into production (only the strongest get through 💪🏻).

Today I wanted to explain a little bit about how the firewall that we will be offering on our Cloud Computing platform works. To increase the security of your servers you'll be able to set some rules "globally" by using our network infrastructure; these will help you protect your software as you'd prefer, by allowing only certain traffic to go through.

You'll also be able to create some groups of rules that you'll be able to enable "quickly" to the servers you want, with a maximum of 40 rules. You'll also have a lot of flexibility being able to choose between the most popular protocols including some flags (we won't elencate those in this message)

We'll also add the possibility to have a local network between your virtual servers, like for example, if you'd want to have some "internal services"; let us explain a little bit more on this to give you a better idea:

In the event that you have a website with a database that contains sensible data, it'd be possible to have a completely separate machine unplugged from the internet hosting the database and only connected locally with the one that contains the website. While this won't surely be enough to protect the informations on the database from external attacks entirely (that would need additional steps to be taken), it surely increases the level of security measurements you can take.

We'd like to announce that on our WebHosting plans there's now the possibility to host applets using the following programming languages:

- PHP
- NodeJS
- Python
- Ruby

There's a wide range of versions and/or extensions available, should any version not be immediately available, we'd like to invite you to report it to us so that we can add it in the shortest time possible, our assistance is always available through ticket and/or email.

We'd also like to inform that this is our only service where we offer Layer 7 HTTP(S) specific filtering. For those of you who have users overseas, we're also developing a CDN that will handle caching of static files, which will significantly improve page load times also for users that will be connecting from the USA.
