Shaykh Yahya Al-Hajoori حفظه الله stated:

“I urge my brothers not to blindfollow me but to take the truth, nor to blindfollow anyone else from the people; for the Deen of Allaah is preserved while we make mistakes; the Deen of Allaah is the [infallible] truth while we are fallible. ALIVE OR DEAD, I DON'T PERMIT ANYONE TO BLINDFOLLOW ME, WALLAAHI! I don't deserve to be blindfollowed, nor do those who are better than me. The Deen of Allaah is what deserves to be followed (as Allaah said):
﴿وَٱعۡتَصِمُوا۟ بِحَبۡلِ ٱللهِ جَمِیعࣰا وَلَا تَفَرَّقُوا۟﴾
“And hold firmly together to the rope of Allaah (i.e. His Deen...) and do not be divided.” [Sūrah Āli-ʿImrān: 103]” [end quote]
