QnA 🎙️Shaykh 'Abdullaah Al-Khawlaani Translator: Abū Sulaymān Khālid Al-Ḥātimī
1. Is it obligatory for women who are in the Masjid to join the Jamā'ah or can they pray on their own before, during or after the Jamā'ah?

2. In most Masājid, women who pray in the Jamā'ah do not form a row. They pray individually in different parts of the masjid. Is such a Ṣalāh valid?

3. From what age is it recommended to insist our children to pray? What if they are asleep during Fajr or 'Ishā?

✒️ The Third Advice:

✏️ Warning those whom when seeking provisions irresponsibly neglect the child's upbringing.

✏️ Do not 'busy' your children with these devices.

✏️ Everyone will be questioned about the people they are in charge of.

4. From what age is praying in congregation obligatory for boys?

5. Our Prophet ﷺ prohibited blowing food when it is hot. At times, the children are hungry and I use something like a paper to fan the food. Does this fall under the same prohibition or is it permissible?

6. It's legislated to hug the person who has returned from travelling. If it is a custom to hug one another as a form of greeting, is this sinful?

7. If we enter a gathering of knowledge or a class that has already started, is it better for us to give the Salām or just sit down?

8. I heard a Ḥadīth that du'ā is not rejected between Adhān and Iqāmah. Is this applicable for women who pray at home? If a woman cannot hear the iqaamah from the masjid, how does she calculate the time between the Adhān and Iqāmah?

Q&A 🎙️Shaykh Muḥammad Ibn Muḥammad Al-Hajoori Translator: Abū Sulaymān Khālid Al-Ḥātimī
1. It is not possible for me to combine between getting the first row in prayer and praying my voluntary prayers in the house. Which of the 2 is given presedence?

2. Is it legislated for other than the Imām to raise their hands during the du'ā of Istisqā (seeking rain)? Especially if it is during the Friday sermon.

3. My sister is about to get married to a person who I am not pleased with her marrying due to him not being upon Istiqāmah or Salafiyyah. He was upon the correct the path but left it after knowing it.

My family members expect me to aid in the preparation of the wedding. Is it better for me to aid in the preparations or refrain from aiding them? If I choose to aid then it will be perceived that I finally approve, and if I refrain then I fear this may cause cause my sister not to be open for advice in the future. What is your advice?

4. In some Muslim lands they still obligate wearing facemasks in the Masjid. As covering the mouth is disliked and not Ḥarām, will it be considered as disobeying the ruler if a person prays in the Masjid without the face mask?

5. Is it legislated to say Āmīn if the Khatīb makes du'ā during or at the end of the Friday sermon?

6. Is it okay to send our children to schools where they teach them religious studies and worldly studies. The teachers are Muslims and it is segregated. There are no other options for school. The only issue is that it is run by Ḥizbīs. How do we go about the education of our children?

Advising Salafis Against Tasweer

Question:

He says: In our country, some Salafis call to Tawheed and warn against Shirk. They are not involved in political groups, but they do engage in tasweer. They publish clips that contain Tawheed and warnings against Shirk from some scholars, and Allaah has benefitted many people through these clips. They also have Telegram channels where they spread Tawheed and the Sunnah and warn against bid‘ah. So how should we deal with them, given that they use video recording?

Shaykh Abdulhameed Az-Zoukory:

We advise them to stop filming, and may Allaah reward them for spreading Tawheed and the Sunnah. Just as they took Tawheed and the Sunnah from the Prophet ﷺ and from the Salaf, we advise them to also take the prohibition of Tasweer from the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ and from the Salaf.

Such people—brothers—who are confused about this matter should be supplicated for, shown patience, and advised.

As for us, our position is clear: we do not engage in tasweer, by the virtue of Allaah, and we do not see it to be permissible. We must warn against these things.

But to say that this (tasweer) is an act of worship, this is a problem. If someone believes it is an act of worship, we advise them to repent from this view and stay away from it. People are in need of the speech of scholars; they are not in need of pictures.

What benefit is there in an image of Ibn Baz? What benefit is there in an image of Abdul Aziz Aal Ash-Sheikh? What benefit is there in an image of Al-Albani? What benefit is there in images at all?

Also, some scholars do not approve of tasweer, so posting their images is disrespectful to them, and some of them may not even forgive it.

So we thank them for spreading Tawheed and the Sunnah, and we call them to avoid filming living beings, because of the fitnah it can cause. Allaah is the One whose help is sought.
