The Intelligence of the Virtuous Shaykh Faysal al-Hashidi حفظه الله

✍️Shaykh Abū Muḥammad ʿAbd al-Karīm Bin Muḥammad al-ʿImād -may Allāh preserve him- said, whilst mentioning the virtues of Shaykh Abū ʿAbd Allāh Fayṣal Bin ʿAbduh Qāʾid al-Ḥāshidī -may Allāh preserve him-:

“1. His Intelligence:

I have not seen anyone with a more intelligent mind, a more precise opinion, sounder advice, and a stronger memory and retention, than him (Shaykh Fayṣal al-Ḥāshidī).

He remembers information that is years old, and he also remembers the book in which the information is present in, along with the page. He also remembers people whom he got to know in only a single meeting a long time ago. Indeed, his Shaykh, al-Imām al-Wādiʿī -may Allāh have mercy on him- said about him:

“Allāh granted him extraordinary intelligence.”

Moreover, the virtue of the people of virtue is not recognised except by their own people, as it is said:

وما عبر الإنسان عن فضل نفسه *** بمثل اعتقاد الفضل في كل فاضل
The Human does not express his own virtue *** Like the one who believes in the virtue of every virtuous person

وليس من الإنصاف أن يدفع الفتى *** يد النقص عنه بانتقاص الأفاضل
It is not from justice that a young man pushes away *** The hand of imperfection from himself by belittling the virtuous”
