JUNTU Technologies Trading PLC officially launched the OMODA and JAECOO automotive brands in Ethiopia on Thursday, opening a new showroom and after-sales service center in Addis Ababa.

The launch follows the introduction of GAC to the local market and reflects the company's commitment to bringing internationally recognized vehicle brands to Ethiopian consumers. Government officials, business leaders, diplomats, financial institutions, and industry stakeholders attended the event.

Company representatives said the investment aims to expand mobility choices while supporting the modernization of Ethiopia's automotive sector through advanced technology, professional after-sales services, and genuine spare parts. JUNTU announced that the JAECOO will start at 5.58 million birr ($34,900), while the OMODA will start at 5.9 million birr ($36,900). Both models come with a six-year vehicle warranty and an eight-year or 150,000-kilometer battery warranty.

There was a time when we all watched the same shows, sang the same songs, and showed up talking about the same moments.

Today, we have endless content at our fingertips, yet fewer experiences that bring us together.

Maybe that's why so many of us miss those days. Not because everything was better, but because for a brief moment, despite all our differences, we were all dancing to the same tune.

Do you remember the last thing that truly brought Ethiopians together?
