The Rotary Club of Addis Ababa West will hold a donation program at the Mekedonia Humanitarian Association in Hayat 49 on Saturday, 29 August 2026, starting at 9:00 AM.
The initiative follows funds raised during the "Music for Humanity" concert, held as part of the Rotary Club of Addis Ababa West's 35th Anniversary celebration. The donation is supported primarily by artist Girma Yifrashewa, who performed at the event, in collaboration with the Rotary Club. Members of Rotary, Rotaract, and the public are invited to attend.

"What Should Remain? A Collective Walk Through Merkato" is scheduled for Saturday, 29 August, in Addis Ababa. The event invites creatives of all disciplines and experience levels including photographers, writers, architects, chefs, and observers to document and reflect on the changing environment of the Merkato market.
Participants will pair up to explore the market's daily routines, sounds, and social dynamics. The initiative aims to capture elements of the location that risk being forgotten as the area undergoes urban changes.
The walk will end with a shared meal and a group discussion centered on what aspects of Merkato should be preserved. Registration is available via the organizer's instagram bio, @bethelabebe._ ,with a QR code providing route and meetup details.
