The Data Governance in Africa Initiative has released four free, self-paced courses focused on data governance topics, hosted on the GIZ learning platform atingi. The offerings cover key regional themes, including the African data economy in the global context, participatory approaches to data governance, data governance mechanisms, and data localization alongside cross-border data flows.

Participants receive a certificate of completion for finishing each individual module. The self-paced format allows learners to progress through the materials at their own convenience.

To access the material, users must create an account on the atingi platform. Registration and course enrollment are available directly through the designated portal page at https://online.atingi.org/local/partner/page.php?id=60.

The Pan African Network for Artistic Freedom (PANAF) is hosting a hybrid national symposium titled "Youth-Led Digital Creation, Artistic Freedom and Cultural Rights." The event focuses on discussions around digital creativity, cultural rights, and artistic freedom among youth.

​The symposium will take place on Friday, 21 August 2026, starting at 9:00 AM, with free admission offered both in person at the Selam Addis Creative Hub and online.

The art exhibition "Grammar of Healing," curated by Etsegenet Melkamu, features artwork centered on themes of trauma, memory, and recovery. Located on the first floor of Bole Zemilo Hotel Apartments, the showcase includes contributions from trauma survivors as well as contemporary Ethiopian artists.

Featured contributors include Abel Lema, Shalom, Selome G., Alazar Habteselassie, and Alex D. Joy.
