The Adey New Year Expo & Festival will return from 27 August to 10 September 2026 at the Addis Ababa Convention Center (AICC), bringing together shopping, entertainment, and cultural experiences for the Ethiopian New Year season.
The 15-day event will feature more than 200 vendors offering various products at discounted prices, with organizers expecting over 180,000 visitors, averaging more than 10,000 guests daily. The expo aims to make New Year shopping more affordable and accessible, especially for residents outside the city center by reducing travel costs and bringing goods closer to consumers.
Beyond shopping, the festival will host cultural performances, live music, comedy, art, and family activities. Two major concerts featuring leading Ethiopian artists are also planned, each expected to attract thousands of attendees.
Organizers say the event will create a festive atmosphere while supporting local businesses and giving visitors a unique New Year celebration experience.

The 2nd Edition Book Carnival will take place on Sunday, 9 August 2026, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Mesob Musical Center. Organized by the Rotaract Club of Finot in collaboration with several partner organizations, the event features book vendors, discussions, and community activities. Entrance to the carnival costs 300 Birr.
In addition to serving as a gathering for readers and vendors, this year’s event is organized to support the "Mobility for Dignity" initiative, which focuses on promoting inclusion and independence for individuals with mobility challenges.
