Join us for “Voices of Resistance Against FGM”, a screening of the award-winning documentary Jaha’s Promise.

The film follows Gambian activist Jaha Dukureh as she works to end female genital mutilation (FGM). After surviving FGM and an early forced marriage, she returns to The Gambia to confront harmful traditions and advocate for the protection of future generations of girls.

The event will include refreshments and a panel discussion.

The Addis House of Culture announces ETHIOPIA, a solo exhibition by photographer Joey Lawrence.

This collection represents the culmination of long-term visual research, featuring intimate portraiture that explores the diverse cultural landscapes of the country.

​The organizers shifted the date to avoid scheduling conflicts with other literary events held by senior poets and writers on the same day.
