At the Future of Work Summit Ethiopia 2025, Afriwork CEO Semegnt, Creative Developer and Founder of Scholar XIV Dagmawi Esayas, and Afriwork CTO Mike Atske will participate in a panel discussion on “Innovation and Technology as Drivers of Job Creation,” which will also feature a demonstration of Afriwork AI.

Artawi Gallery will host an exhibition by Gebrelwa Mamo Worku, running from 18 October 2025 to 8 November 2025, at its location in Bole, near the British International School, 250 meters from Yod Abyssinia at Kkare Homes, 2nd Floor.

The exhibition presents works created from discarded fabrics, combining stitching, dyeing, and layering techniques to explore themes of value, identity, and perception. Through these textured compositions, the artist contrasts elements of the old and new, the overlooked and celebrated.

A rare opportunity to witness Ethiopia's royal past through film. In 1909, French cinematographer Charles Martel captured the last public appearance of Menelik Il, King of Kings.

Eight years later, in 1917, Amedee Eywinger documented the coronation of Queen Zewlitu I. These extraordinary moving images-among the earliest surviving films of Ethiopia-will be presented and commented on by historian and filmmaker Hugues Fontaine.

Naomi: A Story of Cloth, Courage, and Care is an initiative by RAC Ra’ey that emerged in response to the displacement caused by war, aiming to restore dignity through the donation of clothing.

The Naomi Cloth Donation project focuses on providing not only garments but also a sense of comfort and connection to those affected.

The 25th Week of the Italian Language in the World, held under the High Patronage of the President of the Italian Republic, will take place in Ethiopia from 13 to 22 October 2025 under the theme “Italophony: Language Beyond Borders.”

Organized by the Italian Cultural Institute in Addis Ababa, the program features performances, workshops, conferences, masterclasses, and film screenings across disciplines such as art, design, and science.

The main event, “Opera, Amore” by the Accademia del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, will mark the first opera performance in Ethiopia in recent years.

The event offers audiences a rare opportunity to view restored archival footage of Ethiopia’s royal history, presented by historian and filmmaker Hugues Fontaine.
