Alliance Cinema will host a free screening of Magnetic Beats by Vincent Maël Cardona on Tuesday, 30 September 2025 at 6:00 p.m. Set in 1980s Brittany, the film follows a group of friends who run a free radio station in their rural hometown.

Jerome, the charismatic leader, is joined by his younger brother Philippe, the technical mind behind the project. When Philippe is drafted for military service in West Berlin, he is determined to continue broadcasting, but soon realizes he has witnessed the final moments of a fading era.

The screening will feature comfortable seating on bean bags and is open to the public free of charge.

Ethiopian-American singer and composer Meklit Hadero has released her new album A Piece of Infinity.

The project reimagines Ethiopia’s vast folk traditions through a contemporary lens, blending Ethio-jazz, indie rock, and traditional instruments like the krar. Singing in Kambata, Amharic, Oromo, and English, Meklit explores themes of heritage, migration, and identity, offering what she calls just ‘a piece of infinity.’

Already gaining global attention, the album is available now on Spotify and other streaming platforms.
