App crashes while searching fixed!

If you are using v.1.0.7, you may still face app crashes when searching for any app. Please use the nightly version as the fix has been pushed to the repo but not made as a release yet.

📍If you'd like to still use the v.1.0.7, a temporary fix is to disable the main F-Droid repo & Guardian repo from app.

Fake Contacts

Android phone app that creates fake contacts, which will be stored on your smartphone along with your real contacts. This feeds fake data to any apps or companies who are copying our private data to use or sell it. This is called "data-poisoning".

Nothing about these fake contacts will interfere with your normal use of your phone or your real contacts.

Open Source Watomatic Android app sends automatic WhatsApp replies.

Regular WhatsApp accounts don't come with options to send automatic replies, e.g. to inform users who contact you that you are on Holiday or decided to migrate away from WhatsApp because of the recent privacy controversy surrounding the app and service. WhatsApp accounts will be limited and eventually deleted if users don't agree to the new privacy policy.

Users who don't agree may migrate to another chat service, Telegram, for example, introduced options to import WhatsApp chats recently.

After some work, now you can get certified NekoX at the F-Droid main repository. Although the update procedure from this source is slower, it has some mirrors can easily bypass the censorship of some countries and can be used to spread the application.

On public demand I added an optional Insecure anonymous session, disabled by default.

Which basically allows you to generate GSF ID on your own device rather than the dispenser server.

This would allow you to get apps & listing from your own country, similar to v3 and also opens up bridge for Geo-Spoofing

The new preference is located at Settings > Networking > Insecure anonymous session

To apply geo-spoofing just use a VPN and set location for where ever you want to geo-spoof.

Make sure you relogin & restart Aurora Store to apply these changes. Test it & let me know if it works fine for you.

Also, stop sending me bulk messages & emails 😒, you want something just create a Gitlab issue.

TrackerControl

TrackerControl allows users to monitor and control the widespread, ongoing, hidden data collection in mobile apps about user behaviour (‘tracking’).

To detect tracking, TrackerControl combines the power of the Disconnect blocklist, used by Firefox, and our in-house blocklist is used, created from analysing ~2 000 000 apps! Additionally, TrackerControl supports custom blocklists.

👉🏼 reveals the companies behind tracking,

👉🏼 allows to block tracking selectively, and

👉🏼 exposes the purposes of tracking, such as analytics or advertising.

The app also aims to educate about your rights under Data Protection Law, such the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Under the hood, TrackerControl uses Android’s VPN functionality, to analyse apps’ network communications locally on the Android device. This is accomplished through a local VPN server, to enable network traffic analysis by TrackerControl.

💡 No root is required, other VPNs or Private DNS are not supported. No external VPN server is used, to keep your data safe! TrackerControl even protects you against DNS cloaking, a popular technique to hide trackers in websites and apps.

TrackerControl will always be free and open source, being a research project.

A sane network protocol for email, to end attacks and promote productivity.

Email has become a universal cybercrime portal. It allows anyone, claiming any identity, to send you any content, any number of times. And it’s long been an obstacle to productivity and effective communication. Many apps & services have offered to replace it. But email is a network of diverse software & sites. A network can’t be replaced by a product or service.

The mnm project enables a new email network: a sane, simple protocol, a client, and a server. It’s designed for everyone, but especially:

👉🏼 Organizations where a phishing attack could be catastrophic. Examples: manufacturing, public infrastructure, government, finance, research & development, information technology.

👉🏼 Services and websites whose clients dislike the message scanning done by webmail providers. Examples: legal affairs, health care, job search, family matters.
