Scooter Knowledge Base
https://github.com/firebl0od/Scooter_Knowledge/tree/main
This repository collects and organizes information about electric scooter setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The primary source material is a large Telegram conversation exported from the "VESC help" group https://t.me/VescHelpGroup. The goal of the project is to extract practical knowledge from the chat logs and document it in a structured, reusable format.
VESC is short for Vedder Electronic Speed Controller. It is an open-source, open-hardware motor speed controller that allows for advanced customization via software (such as the VESC Tool app). It is commonly used in electric scooters, skateboards, electric bicycles, and robotics projects to provide precise control, regenerative braking, and sensorless operation, overcoming the limitations of standard closed controllers.
The knowledge/processed/themes/ directory contains 72 professionally formatted documents covering:
28 brand dossiers covering controllers, motors, and BMS systems from manufacturers like Spintend, Flipsky, Makerbase, 3Shul, and more
44 comprehensive guides including:
VESC tuning and parameter optimization
Battery pack design and BMS integration
Motor cooling and thermal management
Conversion guides for popular scooter models (Ninebot, Xiaomi, etc.)
Brake upgrades and maintenance
Field weakening and high-voltage setups
Diagnostic tools and troubleshooting
All documents use a consistent, readable format with:
Clean footnote citations linking back to source material
Well-organized sections with proper headings
Tables and checklists for quick reference
Preserved technical accuracy from the original discussions

FaceTiming without Apple...
I tested whether consumer apps like FaceTime, Signal, WhatsApp, and Zoom work on an off-grid #HaLow #mesh #network with zero internet.
The key discovery: FaceTime and Signal connect peer-to-peer if they can find each other on any local network β Apple's servers aren't in the loop. The climax was a two-car highway test where Emilia and I held a FaceTime call at 70 mph, bridged only by Haven nodes and sub-gigahertz antennas. The
conclusion: the "loophole" isn't a hack β it's the original peer-to-peer design we forgot about once we handed the internet to five companies.

Ο RuView
See through walls with WiFi
Turn ordinary #WiFi into a spatial intelligence / sensing system. Detect people, measure breathing and heart rate, #track movement, and monitor rooms β through walls, in the dark, with no cameras or wearables. Just physics.
Ο RuView is a WiFi sensing platform that turns radio signals into spatial intelligence.
Every WiFi router already fills your space with radio waves. When people move, breathe, or even sit still, they disturb those waves in measurable ways. RuView captures these disturbances using Channel State Information (CSI) from low-cost ESP32 sensors and turns them into actionable data: who's there, what they're doing, and whether they're okay.
What it senses:
Presence and occupancy β detect people through walls, count them, track entries and exits
Vital signs β breathing rate and heart rate, contactless, while sleeping or sitting
Activity recognition β walking, sitting, gestures, falls β from temporal CSI patterns
Environment mapping β RF fingerprinting identifies rooms, detects moved furniture, spots new objects
Sleep quality β overnight monitoring with sleep stage classification and apnea screening
https://github.com/ruvnet/RuView

Bitwarden is dying...?
Bitwarden has undergone quite a lot of major changes without any single public announcement, all of it being done quietly. The author who wrote about this quiet renovation at Bitwarden, has already migrated everything to Vaultwarden, the self-hosted version from Bitwarden Cloud.
- The phrase βAlways freeβ disappeared from the personal password manager page in mid-April.
- Bitwarden used to define its culture with the acronym GRIT: Gratitude, Responsibility, Inclusion, and Transparency. After May 4th, that changed.
GRIT now stands for Gratitude, Responsibility, Innovation, and Trust. Inclusion and Transparency are out, while Innovation and Trust are in.
- A 2022 blog post by CEO Michael Crandell β βDefining and sustaining value for Bitwarden usersβ β was quietly edited. The GRIT list in the body now shows the new values: Innovation and Trust.
- Founder/former CEO Michael Crandell was quietly replaced by a new CEO and transitioned to an advisory role in February. The CFO was also replaced in April.
- The new CEO is Michael Sullivan (former CEO of Acquia and Insightsoftware), whose specialty is mergers and acquisitions and private equity.
Private equity firms buy businesses, cut costs, grow revenue, and sell them at a profit. Theyβre not there to run a software company long-term β theyβre managing an investment toward an exit. The people hired to run those companies are hired specifically because they know how that process works. Thatβs the new CEO of Bitwarden, as he oversaw a $1 billion acquisition of Acquia by Vista Equity Partners in 2019, and a $1 billion investment from Hg into Insightsoftware in 2021.
