The story about the rich man, for ethical reasons, his name was withheld so as not to offend the family, especially with the way the man's life ended.
But Lazarus' name was mentioned because it wouldn't hurt anybody, I mean nobody cares for him while on earth and with the way the story ended.
This is also telling us that these men must have been real life men, and it happened on real time
Do you know that some people are alive to make money and enjoys it.
You cannot serve God and Mammon. You either love one and hate the other
I put it to you, who do you serve? God or money?
Many of us have this philosophy, seek ye first the kingdom of money and then you buttress it with Solomon's saying that 'money answereth all things
Many people despitefully use people. They just do things with people because they can control . People they can manipulate
Looking at the rich man, he fes sumptuously everyday, wore expensive dress, drapes in finest of jewelries.
Sat down with his friends and feeds then the remnants were thrown out which Lazarus' fed from
This rich man enjoyed his money and kept it to himself and probably his family
While he was not accused with all he did, his luxury feeding, dressing, vacations and mobility, he was not bothered about others
He did not have human feeling to be sympathetic towards others and at least stretch his hands out to them in mercy
He even knew Lazarus, they must have bumped, or crossed path, while driving out of his luxurious estate, by the gate.
Because when they both died , Lazarus was with Abraham and he went to hell
This rich man was soooo unconcerned about whether Lazarus ate from his dustbin . Instead of giving out excesses, he would tell his servants to trash it.
This man had no time to encounter God, pray, study the word, or live according to God's will
Let me ask you, why do you pursue money like it's the real deal
You may marry the most beautiful woman, but she may never love you, except your money of course
