Back in 2016, Lermess didn’t look like a company.
No office, no team — not even a clear plan.
Just two people in different countries: Oliver in England and Emily in the US, connected by one shared feeling — something in the industry wasn’t working.
Oliver was working with early-stage startups in London: strong ideas, complex products, smart founders — but weak presentation. Brands looked the same, websites didn’t explain much, and users struggled to understand the value.
At the same time, Emily in the US was seeing a different side of the problem: teams were building fast, but without systems, without clear positioning, without long-term thinking.
They met through a shared professional circle — and within a few conversations, it became obvious: they were looking at the same problem from different angles.
The first projects happened almost by accident.
