Salam also unveiled a comprehensive plan for the safe and sustainable return of Syrian refugees, noting over 16,000 applications submitted in just 10 days. He affirmed the government’s commitment to transparency, merit-based public appointments, depositor rights, and financial sector reform. On electricity, he said plans to build gas-powered plants are under discussion, and Starlink project talks are ongoing. The government, he added, is tackling the waste sector structurally—not with patchwork solutions—and working on modernizing the national waste management strategy.
