🌲 - 🇱🇧 In a major anti-narcotics operation, the Lebanese Army raided one of the largest Captagon factories uncovered to date in the town of Al-Yamouna, Baalbek. Acting on intelligence, a joint army and Intelligence Directorate force dismantled roughly 10 tons of machinery and seized large quantities of Captagon pills, crystal meth, and other narcotics. A 300-meter tunnel used for accessing and storing equipment was also sealed off using army bulldozers. The seized materials were handed over to the judiciary, and investigations are underway to apprehend those involved.

For nearly two decades, Hezbollah had complete control over regions where drug networks operated freely under its protection and approval. The army under fear of confrontation rarely dared to challenge Hezbollah’s home turf. This was directly linked to Lebanon's largest trade partners to halt imports leading to $2 billion loss in exports out of $3 billion which destroyed Lebanon's economy.

Now that the group is (thankfully) weakened the army is doing its job again in dismantling narco-networks, aiming to rebuild Lebanon’s shattered credibility with Gulf states and revive critical trade ties essential for economic recovery. Hoping it will do its job in reclaiming the state's monopoly on violence, ending the era of armed non-state actors operating with impunity.

What is happening in Sweida cannot be considered merely a dispute between the Druze and the tribes present in the province. The situation has exceeded all expectations and has become very similar to what has happened in some areas of the Syrian coast.

We call for the intervention of major powers and Arab countries, specifically the Gulf states, as it has become an urgent necessity to put an end to what is happening.

Opinion: I personally support the Druze. We have to stand with them in this fight. After the Druze they will come for us Christians. Stay strong fellow Druze. God be with you.

Part of the Christian religion is forgiving. We've had a rough past with the Druze as Christians in Lebanon but there's a chance to repair these problems and make peace with them. At the end of the day, they lived among us in Mount-Lebanon. You have my prayers and support in the fight against the Jihadis. 💪 (my opinion)
