In other words, it's a call to disarm Hezbollah and all armed groups across Lebanon. In fact, we don’t even know the full details of what Lebanon has offered to Barak. Hezbollah for its part, has made it clear through repeated statements by Naim Qassem, especially in his recent speeches that it will not surrender its weapons. Barak’s optimism seems rooted more in diplomatic language than in reality.

🌲 - I personally don't take diplomatic statements seriously. Why?

Just remember the past two experiences.

The first experience comes from the effort to avoid war between Lebanon (Hezbollah) & Israel. Back then the American mediator Amos Hochstein assured Lebanon that there won't be any war and only diplomacy works. What happened next? Israel decided to go to war against Hezbollah.

The second experience is a recent one between Israel/America and Iran. Americans said there was a breakthrough in negotiations and then war started between Iran and Israel.
