The New York Times reported that two C-130 Hercules transport aircraft were loss in the operation.

US official account claimed the C-130s were "stuck" and they had to fly in 3 additional aircraft to retrieve the rescue team.

The account also claimed the C-130s were destroyed by the American force to prevent them from falling into Iranian hands.
