To end the existence of Hamas

The issue with such claims isn't the feasibility of achieving its goals, it's the mistake of setting goals that will define who claims the win this war. To achieve that, Hamas' leadership has to die and its fighter to surrender.

If the Israeli army fails to do that, its war objective will not be fulfilled and Israel can't claim winning the war. It can't claim the win even if all Gaza is destroyed and Hamas lost 10's of thousands of fighters.

If at the end Israel leaves Gaza and Hamas's leadership is alive and the fighters are still there, they will claim victory by denying Israel's claim to have achieved its war goals.

But that all aside, the greater obstacle isn't there, it's Hezbullah.

Israel has the firepower and manpower to kill the leadership of Hamas if it's willing to pay the price to occupy Gaza and reach the city centers.

However this is meaningless the moment Hezbullah decided to make itself the guarantor of the survivor of Hamas. Hezbullah's leadership took the decision that it will be responsible for the survivability of the movement.

Based on that, Hezbullah will utilize all its abilities and join the war in full force the moment the existence of Hamas is in danger. Till then, Hezbullah will restrict itself to limited operations on the border no matter the losses or achievements.

The IDF has the choice of leaving Gaza and facing the backlash of defeat, or risking a war with Lebanon that will destroy Gaza, Israel, and Lebanon.
