Why Ali al-Taher and the mountains the Israelis Want to Recapture?
After the enemy reached the vicinity of Beaufort Castle (Qalaat al-Shaqif), and despite some considering this a historic achievement for the enemy army and celebrating it, Israel knows that controlling this area is not enough. It needs to seize the range of the Ali al-Taher-al-Tahra-al-Dabsha heights, all the way to Jabal al-Rafie in the Iqlim al-Tuffah region, in order to fully control this encirclement. Without completing this encirclement, it is merely an incursion.

What’s the purpose of the Lebanese Army, if not to defend Lebanon?

Its dysfunctional and highly controlled by the Lebanese Gov and President who do not want to take action and view the events in south Lebanon as a stepping stone towards:
- Disarming Hezbullah
- Forcing the Shia away from the resistance
This can only happen in their opinion if Israel is unleashed and continues to exert force on us
As for soldiers, many are patriotic, however, whoever joins the army did not join to fight but to:
- Get a job and medical insurance if poor
- Get the benefits of being an officer and the privileges it comes with it
Else? There is nothing else.
