❗️White House aides got an email last month telling them not to place bets on prediction markets, multiple sources told @CBSNews.

Press reports had raised concerns about govt officials using nonpublic info to place wagers on Kalshi and Polymarket, said the email, from White House Management Office.

The warning reminded staff that's a criminal offense, and is also prohibited by govt ethics regulations.

"All White House employees are reminded that the misuse of nonpublic information by government employees for financial benefit is a very serious offense and will not be tolerated."

أُعزّي أهلنا الصابرين الصامدين في كل أنحاء لبنان الوطن بارتقاء الشهداء الأبرار من الرجال والنساء والأطفال والمجاهدين والمجاهدات، سائلاً المولى تعالى لهم أعظم الرحمات، لما قدّموه لشعبنا ووطننا من دماء زكية نراها عاملًا مساعدًا للعزة والنصر في مواجهة العدو الإسرائيلي - الأميركي الغاشم والطاغية. سائلاً المولى تعالى الشفاء العاجل للجرحى، ولأهلنا الصبر والعزيمة والتوفيق.

عَجِزَ العدو الإسرائيلي في الميدان في مواجهة أبطال المقاومة الشجعان، ولم يتمكن من الاجتياح البري كما أعلن مرارًا، وسقط جنوده وضباطه في كمائن المجاهدين، ودمّرت آلياته على مفترق البلدات والقرى، وأعلن تغيير أهدافه عدة مرات، فتارة يريد الليطاني، وأخرى التقدم المحدود، وثالثة السيطرة بالنيران، ورابعة الاعتماد على النيران والتدمير... ولم يُفلح في كلّ عدوانه لأكثر من أربعين يوماً في منع الصواريخ والقذائف والطائرات المسيرة عن مستوطناته القريبة والبعيدة إلى حيفا وما بعد حيفا.

فوجئ العدو بأساليب المقاومة، ومرونة حركة المجاهدين، وقدراتهم الدفاعية، وشجاعتهم الأسطورية. وتبيّن أنّ حشد مئة ألف جندي إسرائيلي لن يساعده على الاحتلال، بل سيتحولون إلى جثث وأشلاء، ومن بقي في الميدان يعيش الخوف والرعب وهو لا يعلم متى سيُقتل؟ أو متى سيؤسر؟ أو متى سيأتيه أمر الانسحاب لعدم القدرة على الاستقرار في أرض الطهر في جنوب العطاء والشهادة.

أربعون يومًا والعدو يُراكم فشله، ومستوطناتُه تضجُّ من الألم والرعب، وخططُه مرتبكة، ومسؤولوه يهددون يوميًا بنبرة عالية الصوت منخفضة الأثر. لجأ العدو إلى الإجرام الدموي يوم الأربعاء في بيروت والضاحية والجنوب والبقاع وجبل لبنان وفي كل مكان باستهداف المدنيين في الأحياء المكتظة والقرى والبلدات لتغطية عجزه في الميدان. لكنّ شعبنا اللبناني أقوى وأصلب بكثير مما يعتقد، والنازحون أعطوا أمثولة الفخر والمعنويات، والذين آووهم أظهروا أشرف المواطنة والإنسانية، والمجاهدون على الجبهات هم سدّ منيع كسر أحلام الصهاينة وأمنياتهم.

المقاومة مستمرة حتى ينقطع النفس، وتنافس الشباب إلى الميدان لا يغادرونه هو بارقة أمل وعزة، والتضحيات تجعلنا أكثر تشبثًا بتحرير وطننا وكرامتنا. لن نقبل بالعودة إلى الوضع السابق، وندعو المسؤولين إلى إيقاف التنازلات المجانية، نحن معًا كدولة وجيش وشعب ومقاومة نحمي بلدنا ونُعيد سيادته ونطرد المحتل. لن تخيفنا تهديداتهم ولا أسلحتهم، فنحن أصحاب الأرض، نملك الإيمان والإرادة والقدرة لنمنعهم من تحقيق أهدافهم. قال تعالى "كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَأَغْلِبَنَّ أَنَا وَرُسُلِي ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَوِيٌّ عَزِيزٌ".

South Lebanon is the only thing that matter. The Shia of south Lebanon are the Shia of Beirut

South Lebanon is Jabal A'mel and whoever abandons south Lebanon abandons Islam.

The attacks in Beirut before didn't have any effect on the war. They attacked residential buildings with no impact on the war (excluding the day they killed so many civilians)

The war has to stop everywhere. A ceasefire covers all or none.

In the past 15 months we lived safely in Beirut while our friends and family lived in daily fear in the south and were killed daily

Beirut wasn't attacked daily in the war either way and Dahyeh was mostly Empty during the war

The IDF only attacked buildings as a punishment for the people. There has never been that many offices for Hezbullah ever

And what damn difference does it make when you don't attacked Beirut but attacked the largest city in south Lebanon, the Capital of the Nabatieh governorate!?
