‏أمام تمادي آلة القتل والدمار الإسرائيليتين في حرب الإبادة التي تشنها على لبنان، والتي كان أبشع وجوهها العدوان الجوي الغاشم الذي استهدف العاصمة بيروت والضاحية الجنوبية ومناطق واسعة من البقاع والجبل وصيدا وقرى عدة في الجنوب اللبناني، وأسفرت عن استشهاد وجرح المئات من المدنيين، من بينهم عشرات الأطفال والنساء والشيوخ، داخل الأحياء والأبنية المكتظة بالسكان، في جريمة حرب مكتملة الأركان.

‏وأضاف الرئيس بري: إن جريمة اليوم، المتزامنة مع اتفاق وقف النار الذي أُعلن في المنطقة ولم تلتزم به إسرائيل ومستوياتها السياسية والأمنية، هي اختبار جدي للمجتمع الدولي، وتحدٍّ صارخ لكل القوانين والأعراف والمواثيق الدولية التي تغتالها إسرائيل يوميًا من خلال إمعانها باغتيال الإنسان على نحو غير مسبوق في التاريخ المعاصر، وهي في الوقت نفسه اختبار لكل اللبنانيين، قياداتٍ سياسية وروحية وأهلية، للتوحد خلف الدماء. الرحمة للشهداء، والشفاء العاجل للجرحى، وحمى الله لبنان.
