Genuinely asking, I know the ground invasion will be very harsh and bloody on Lebanon

But genuinely curious, did they lose their way tonight? Like they announced raids to where and what? Near the border wall, took a photo, then went back to Israel?

They are probably testing defenses and all, but nothing happened on the Lebanese side.

๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡งl๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ The intensity of the artillery shelling and the sounds of explosions increases, and sometimes decreases in the same place where it started yesterday afternoon.

Shelling is still concentrated in the Kfar Kila-Tel al-Nahhas axis, the Khiyam plain, and the southern outskirts of the city of Khiyam.

This is accompanied by heavy machine gun bursts fired from the adjacent Metulla settlement towards Lebanon.

๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡งl๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑl๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ U.S. greenlights Israel's war in Lebanon

Senior White House figures privately told Israel that the U.S. would support its decision to ramp up military pressure against Hezbullah โ€” even as the Biden administration publicly urged the Israeli government in recent weeks to curtail its strikes, according to American and Israeli officials.

Presidential adviser Amos Hochstein and Brett McGurk, the White House coordinator for the Middle East, told top Israeli officials in recent weeks that the U.S. agreed with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahuโ€™s broad strategy to shift Israelโ€™s military focus to the north against Hezbullah in order to convince the group to engage in diplomatic talks to end the conflict, the officials told POLITICO.

Behind the scenes, Hochstein, McGurk and other top U.S. national security officials are selling Israelโ€™s Lebanon operations as a history-defining moment โ€” one that will reshape the Middle East for the better for years to come.

The thinking goes: Israel has obliterated Hezbullahโ€™s top command structure in Lebanon, severely undercutting the groupโ€™s capabilities and weakened Iran.
