🪦 He was killed ‘yesterday’ in the southern Gaza Strip, bringing the official toll of troops killed in the ground offensive in Gaza & operations on its border to 273.

🎊 It's the 700ᵗʰ acknowledged Israeli military or ‘police’ death and counting

700 enemy combatants in uniforms of the genocidal & rogue state of ‘Israel’ have been listed as war casualties since Oct ⁠7, either slain in combat by the heroes of the resistance, killed in operational accidents or even suicide.

☠️ In details:
- 638 IDF members, 17 names of which have been withheld and 621 names released (TOI list).
- 62 police members, incl. Yamam (elite unit active in Gaza) and Border Police (military force active in the West Bank and Jerusalem).

Besides, ten Shin Bet members were killed in battles on Oct ⁠7, four of which are included in the IDF count and one was killed in her home.

Total in the security establishment: at ⁠least 706. (Not incl.: Haredi ‘guards’ & ‘security squad’ members licensed to carry guns or even trained by the IDF yet not in IDF reserves; security personnel labelled ‘civilian’ because killed off-duty; civil personnel who were belligerents)

◻️ A pause due to ‘Memorial Day’ and ‘Independence Day’

🗣️ In response to the Israeli assassination yesterday of a Hezbullah commander, the Meron Base and Branit barracks have been attacked with rockets, artillery, and Burkan rockets.

Damage has been confirmed by Hezbullah.

Base is mostly evacuated.

📹 About 60 rockets were fired towards Meron Base.

A couple impacted it, causing some minor damage. Rest landed around it.

📝 Exactly 24 hours before the assassination, the Israeli media leaked reports that the army was planning to evacuate Meron Settlement. They knew what was going to happen.

📷 These events were followed by an Israeli airstrike on Aitaroun. No casualties

📷 And another in Al-Rayhan mountain in south Lebanon.

📹 Initial reports of one death and two injuries in Al-Mansouri village.

It is not clear of its a misfire from the latest rocket barrage by the Palestinian factions (Hamas) or a drone strike.

📃 Gallant rebukes Netanyahu over possible military rule in Gaza

Defense Minister Gallant has sharply criticized Netanyahu on issues so far addressed privately:

“I have been raising the issue in the cabinet for several months - without an answer. Local Palestinian rule is above all an Israeli interest. […] A dangerous trend is developing that promotes an Israeli military gov't in the Gaza Strip”

“An Israeli military government in Gaza would become Israel's main security effort in the years to come, cost many needless blood and victims and also bring a heavy economic price. I will not agree to the establishment of an Israeli military gov't in Gaza, Israel must not do this.

“I call on Netanyahu to make a decision and declare that there will be no Israeli military gov't and that a governing alternative to Hamas be promoted immediately, right now.”

Netanyahu answers Gallant:

“I'm not ready to exchange Hamasstan for Fatahstan. After the terrible massacre of Oct ⁠7, I've ordered the destruction of Hamas. [...] No other party will step in to manage civilian Gaza. Certainly not the Palestinian Authority. 80% of the Palestinians in [the West Bank] support the terrible massacre of October 7. The Palestinian Authority supports terrorism, educates terrorism, finances terrorism.”

📷 Another Israeli ‘civilian’ has been announced dead... He was killed inside the Gaza Strip:

«Liron Yitzhak, 30, a Defense Ministry contractor who was wounded in a mortar attack in the southern Gaza Strip on Monday has died, the ministry and hospital officials say. [...]

«In addition to Yitzhak, the mortar attack left eight soldiers wounded, including two seriously, and another Defense Ministry contractor lightly hurt.

«Yitzhak, from Petah Tikva, is survived by his fiancée, to whom he was supposed to marry in two weeks, his parents, and two siblings.

«The Defense Ministry says “Yitzhak was carrying out work on behalf of a company contracted by the Defense Ministry, as part of assistance to IDF troops operating in Gaza”.»

✈️ Israel media confirms that a drone impacted in Kfar Nehar HaYarden, some 50 km away from the Lebanese border.

Origin is unclear.

☠️ 5 hospitals in Ashdod, Ashkelon, Jerusalem, and Tel Aviv are preparing to receive the wounded and dead from recent clashes in Gaza.

Hamas and the other factions successfully adapted and have increased the toll against the Israeli forces.

🗣️ Hezbullah takes credit for the successful suicide drone attack on an Israeli base, some 50-km away from the Lebanese border.

Several drones were used against Eilana air base and they impacted a air force control system. The attack achieved its goal.

📹 Hezbullah releases footage of their large caliber Burkan rocket and its direct impact inside Branit barracks.

The base was extensively damage from this attack and previous ones. No casualties reported as its mostly evacuated.

📹 Hezbullah also released footage of an ATGM attack on equipment at the radar base on the Lebanese border.

📷 This morning, official Hezbullah media released the news about a meeting between the group's SG Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and senior delegation from Hamas, headed by Khalil Al-Hayyah.

The two discussed the ongoing war, the negotiations, and the efforts made.
