🔴 UNICEF: The 600,000 children of Rafah are in danger

In a statement on May ⁠6, the UN agency warns that half of the 1.2M people currently sheltering in Rafah are children in danger, while already more than 14,000 children have been reportedly killed.

📑 In response to Israeli attacks on Lebanese villages that destroyed civilian houses, Hezbullah announced attacking houses in the following Israeli settlements:

🔻 1 x Manara

📷 The Israeli army carried 10 airstrikes on the open fields between Aita al-Shaab an Ramiah.

These attacks didn't target any infrastructure and falls in an area near the border wall.

However note, the Israeli army is focusing on destroying all forests and vegetation in the border area for obvious reasons.

📑 U.S. delays much needed bombs for the upcoming offensive in Rafah and any future war with Lebanon

The U.S. paused a shipment of 1,800 x  2,000 pound bombs and 1,700 x  500 pound bombs to Israel last week due humanitarian concerns about Israel’s offensive in Rafah, per a senior administration official.

The unprecedented U.S. decision follows weeks of consultations beginning in April between U.S. and Israeli officials on how to meet the humanitarian needs of civilians in Rafah and “how to operate differently against Hamas there than they have elsewhere in Gaza,” per an official

But in recent days it became clear to the Biden administration that “Israeli leaders seemed to approach a decision point on such an operation," forcing Washington to reviewed proposed transfers and recommend a pause, including for 2k pound bombs.

“Israel should not launch a major ground operation in Rafah, where more than a million people are sheltering with nowhere else to go," said the official...

“We are especially focused on the end-use of the 2,000-lb bombs and the impact they could have in dense urban settings as we have seen in other parts of Gaza.”

📑 Israeli airstrike that killed seven health workers in Lebanon used US munition, analysis reveals

Israel used a US weapon in a March airstrike which killed seven healthcare workers in southern Lebanon, according to a Guardian analysis of shrapnel found at the site of the attack, which was described by Human Rights Watch as a violation of international law.

Seven volunteer paramedics, aged between 18 and 25, were killed in the 27 March attack on an ambulance center belonging to the Lebanese Succor Association in the town of al-Habariyeh in south Lebanon on 27 March.

Shrapnel recovered from the al-Habariyeh attack included a fragment with writing identifying it as a “bomb MPR 500”, as well as the parts of a JDAM which clip the bomb to the guidance system and remnants of its motor.

Five days after the attack on healthcare workers in Lebanon, Israel killed another seven aid workers employed by the World Central Kitchen in Gaza. This attack led to global outrage and was called a “serious mistake” by Israel.

The revelation of Israel’s use of US weaponry in an unlawful attack comes as the US secretary of state, Antony Blinken, is set to deliver a report to Congress on 8 May on whether he finds credible Israel’s assurances that its use of US weapons do not violate US or international Law.
