🔶️ Israeli journalist Ben Caspit wrote that Netanyahu is “under unusual stress” over the possibility of an arrest warrant being issued against him by the UN tribunal at the Hague, adding that he is leading a “nonstop push over the telephone” to prevent it.

🔶️ The ICC could also issue warrants to Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and Israeli Army Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi, according to the report.

🔶️ “We will never stop defending ourselves. Whereas decisions of the court in the Hague will not affect Israel’s actions, they would be a dangerous precedent threatening the soldiers and officials of any democracy fighting criminal terrorism and aggression,” Netanyahu said on 26 April.

🔶️ Earlier this month, it was reported that arrest warrants could be issued against top Israeli officials, including Netanyahu, prompting an emergency meeting at the prime minister's office on 16 April.

🔶️ Israel has been accused of genocide by the International Court of Justice (ICJ). An interim ruling at the start of the year determined that Israel was plausibly guilty of the crime of genocide and ordered it to stop genocidal acts during its war on Gaza and take measures to guarantee the efficient provision of humanitarian aid to the strip.

🌷 Palestine: Karim Abu Saleh, a Palestinian with Israeli citizenship, from the northern town of Sakhnin, died in Israeli prison 10 days after being re-arrested for an unknown reason.

He was originally arrested for allegedly working with ISIS, and was sentenced to six years in prison.

Israeli sources claim Abu Saleh has "most likely taken his own life". This sounds very strange considering the fact that Karim's first child was born just a few days ago, while Karim was in custody.

He is the 16th Palestinian prisoner since October 7th to die within Israeli prisons-turned-concentration-camps operated by the Israeli Prison Service. A few dozen more Palestinians were murdered since October 7th in concentration camps operated by the IDF.

📹 Hezbullah released footage of its rocket attack on Meron settlement yesterday night.

The rocket launcher was prepared in the day and timed to launch at night.

📷 A couple of hours ago, an Israeli attack targeted al-Balat mountain near Marwahin village.

Now, two big explosions were heard in south Lebanon.

📑 Throughout the day, the Israeli enemy carried a series of attacks on Lebanon that included:

- A drone airstrike in Aita al-Shaab
- Airstrikes in Rashaya al-Fukhar, Burger valley in Hasbaya, Teir Harfa, and Khiyam.

Additional Israeli artillery attacks targeted the above, alongside Haneen and Al-Jebayn. At least one civilian woman was injured in the attacks.

📑 Israel is setting up a complex system of checkpoints that will prevent men of “military age” from fleeing Rafah in preparation for its offensive on the southern Gaza border city, a senior western official familiar with Israel’s plans has told Middle East Eye on condition of anonymity.

The checkpoints are designed to allow some women and children to leave Rafah ahead of an expected Israeli offensive, but unarmed, civilian Palestinian men will likely be separated from their families and remain trapped in Rafah during an expected Israeli assault.

📑 The International Criminal Court is being warned by members of Congress in both parties that arrest warrants for senior Israeli officials will be met with U.S. retaliation — and legislation to that effect is already in the works, Axios has learned.

Why it matters: Israeli Prime Minister
Benjamin Netanyahu has gone so far as to urge President Biden to intervene to help prevent the warrants, Axios' Barak Ravid reported.

The White House declined to comment on Netanyahu's call with Biden but said "the ICC has no jurisdiction in this situation and we do not support its investigation."

Driving the news: House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) issued a statement on Monday calling the reported warrants "disgraceful" and "lawless."
