⚠️ A new update for Google's Find My Device will let people locate a lost Android smartphone even if it’s offline.

The main change is that Google has created a β€œcrowdsourced network” of over a billion devices running Android 9.0 or higher, which can essentially ping your phone or tablet when in range. Previously, Find My Device mainly only worked for Android devices connected to the internet over Wi-Fi or a cellular network. But now the technology can also tap Bluetooth signals.

"Our research found that the Find My Device network is most valuable in public settings like cafes and airports, where there are likely many devices nearby," the company said.

Another improvement for Find My Device is exclusive to Google's Pixel phones
:

"Pixel 8 and 8 Pro can now be found even if the battery is dead
, as there is reserve power on the device for several hours that is channeled to the Bluetooth chip," according to Google.

Starting in May, the app will support third-party trackers from Chipolo and Pebblebee before rolling out support to β€œadditional Bluetooth tags from eufy, Jio, Motorola and more,” the company said.

πŸ“ Shared this to highlight the security risk of phone and now they are accessible to those with know-hows and skills

πŸ“‘ Hours into the Iranian operation, Russian Duma Deputy Chairman Piotr Tolstoy, fluent in French, wrote this pentastich:

In the garden of friendship blooms the noble cause,
Hand in hand, the hearts in osmosis.
Every gesture, every word sows hope,
Illuminates the shadows, removes the dark.
United, our dreams weave a sweeter tomorrow.

πŸ“ While it's quite evident everyone would have preferred to see more impacts in Israel, we have to know a few things: - The Iranian attack didn't target civilian centers - The Iranian attack targeted isolated military bases Based on these two points and taking…
πŸ“ Just wanted to add a few fast points

- The Iranian attack showcases the hypocrisy of the Western world who condemned an attack on military targets in Israel but did not condemn the attack on diplomatic buildings in Syria

- The Iranians are highly likely to respond to any overt Israeli attack on Iranian lands. Iranians have enough drones and ballistic missiles to sustain these waves of attacks. Does Israel have enough air defence missiles?

- The hope is for the situation between Israel and Iran not to escalate, millions of lives will be destroyed. But look, eventually a big war has to happen to make a change, however we all hope change happens through small battles and less bloodshed

- Iran's attack delaying the Rafah invasion is a major win for Hamas who has better time to restructure and recognize it's forces. Additionally good enough to leverage in the ongoing ceasefire negotiations.

- Israelis now sense more danger from Iran than Hamas, this could help end the war in Gaza faster

- Israel has been planning for years on how to successfully maneuver an attack deep in Iran using fighter jets. It's not easy, and that's why the Israel military is working overtime. There is huge huge risks in such attacks.

- The Israeli attack on Iran is highly likely to cause more material damage than the Iranian attack on Israel

- Without U.S. and allies support, the Israeli air defences were at huge risk

- Everyone's learning unique and valuable lessons. This battle is shaping the new battlefield.

πŸ“· Israeli media quoting the army confirms that the impact in Northern Israel on a road to an Israeli base was not a ballistic missile impact as initially claimed, it was a suicide drone from Iran.

This refutes the claim that all drones were intercepted before reaching Israel.

However, there are no reports of additional impacts yet.

πŸ“‘ The Israeli military has wrapped up a series of drills, both on the ground and in cyberspace, simulating war with Lebanon

One drill, carried out by the Northern Command and Computer Service Directorate, simulated "the deployment of forces and the use of technological means" and "combat in the digital space," the IDF says.

The Northern Command also carried out an exercise with its reserve forces, practicing coordination between its various departments, the army says.

Another drill, carried out by the 210th "Bashan" Regional Division, simulated "a variety of scenarios in Lebanon and Syria simultaneously," the IDF says.

The IDF says the 282nd Artillery Regiment carried out a separate drill practicing suddenly changing from routine operations to an emergency.

Additionally, reservists of the elite Alpinist Unit "practice their operational mission while preparing for complex combat in urban areas," the military adds.

The drills are aimed at "increasing preparedness in the northern arena," the IDF says.

πŸ“· Aftermath of yesterday's Israeli attack on a civilian house in Haneen, south Lebanon.

πŸ“ It's quite important to understand and observe, that the Israeli attacks on Lebanon daily amount to dozens, including at least a handful houses attacked.

Only on some days, does the Israeli army attack a house with members of the resistance, who use it for temporary shelter during there movement. This amounts to the majority of casualties sustained.

That noted, this highlights the immense damage caused by the Israeli army to civilian property which was not utilized for militarized purposes, showcasing their disregard to civilians.

However its important to note, that despite Israeli claims of "reaching a new level of escalation and offensive in Lebanon", the attacks are limited and confined.
