📝 I specified their sect so people can have a better understanding on the dynamics of factions fighting Israel. Lebanese, unlike Palestinians, are made up of many sects.

As for why I have mentioned they are anti-Hezbullah, is because they openly have claimed so in previous footage of them, calling Hezbullah a threat and an evil.

Lebanon’s 80th independence day

Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati commemorated Independence Day and announced the launch of the Independence Museum at the Citadel in Rashaya (southern Beqaa). “After 80 years of enduring many harsh trials, adherence to the constitution and clinging to the pact of coexistence that fosters our national existence remain the only path to renew independence”, Mikati said.

This citadel is where French Mandate authorities imprisoned during 11 days in 1943 the country’s early national leaders, including Bechara el-Khoury and Riad el-Solh, after the Chamber of Deputies removed mentions of the French Mandate in the Lebanese constitution.

The army did not have a parade today. It was cancelled last year too, due to the presidential vacancy.
