The recent 11-day battle between the Resistance factions in Gaza and the state of Israel set a new precedent in the Arab-Israeli war over the Holy Land, setting new rules of engagement. UNSC adopts resolution ‘calling for’ but not ‘demanding’ a pause in Gaza

The United Nations Security Council has adopted Malta's draft resolution that “calls for urgent and extended humanitarian pauses and corridors” in Gaza, “calls for the immediate and unconditional release of hostages”, and also “demands that all parties comply with their obligations under international law”. The vote was 12–0 with the US, UK, and Russia abstaining. Russia proposed an amendment for a durable “humanitarian truce leading to a cessation of hostilities” that was rejected.

The final wording reportedly watered down language from a “demand” to a simple “call” for a pause.

📃 The Israeli army is currently digging inside Al-Shifa medical complex to locate its own old bunker which they accuse Hamas of using as an HQ.

☠️ The Israeli army announced the death of two new soldiers in Gaza

Cpt. Asaf Master, 22, a platoon commander in the 401st Armored Brigade's 601st Battalion.

Cpt. Kfir Itzhak Franco, 22, a platoon commander in the 401st Armored Brigade's 52nd Battalion.

The death toll in the offensive rises to about 50, a few short from 2014's toll.
