Egypt warns Israel to cease its call to relocate Palestinians to the south of Gaza Strip within 24 hours, says UN Security Council must immediately intervene and stop it

Egypt is the one country that could actually give safe passage to civilians through its border with Gaza.

The IDF spokesman says that in the last 24 hours Israeli ground forces conducted several limited raids in the area close to the border inside the Gaza strip in an effort to "clean the area" from Hamas fighters and search for missing Israelis.

This is the first step before a ground invasion to test the area for weaknesses. Back in 2006, the Israeli army did such raids for weeks, before they actually invaded in the last week and a half.
