FPM's head Gebran Basil is attempting to find common ground with opposition parties and non-allies to elect a president other than Suleiman Franjieh.

Despite being old allies, and sharing Hezbullah as a common friend, Basil is adamant at sabotaging Franjieh's presidential bid.
