🚨 The UAE authorities released today the two Lebanese, Hussein Ali Nahal (a member of the Jebshit municipality), and his son, Muhammad, after they were arrested in mid-June at Dubai International Airport.

They arrive to Beirut today.

Hochstein from Baabda: "Our meeting was excellent, and I believe that we will make progress, and I am optimistic that an agreement will be reached [at some point]."

"Hochstein's visit today has nothing to do with the maritime negotiations. The security situation is very good."

⋯ Amos Hochstein told Lebanese officials that Israel demands to acquire the B1 point located in Ras Al-Naqoura, which connects the sea to land.

He justified his demand by security necessities.

Israeli Minister of War Benny Gantz:

"I hope we are not forced into any battle on any front before the upcoming Knesset elections on the 1st of next November."

🔴 The death toll of a robbery at a cellphone shop in Tripoli (Lebanon) rose to four.

⋯ Mahmoud Khader, owner of the phone shop, in addition to two young men from the Al-Hosni family from the town of Benin, were killed in the robbery/attack.

The 4th death is one of the attackers.

Correction and update: It was Najib Mikati NOT the US mediator Amos Hochstein who said Lebanon has to hand B1 to Israel, according to Jamil al-Sayyed.

Hochstein was surprised and said land demarcation is a different issue.

🌾 Russia will deliver aid to Lebanon: cereals, foodstuffs, oil derivatives

Speaking today to Sputnik, Lebanon's ambassador to Russia, Chawki Bou Nassar, said that a request for aid made by PM Najib Mikati last May has been approved by Moscow two weeks ago. It was confirmed during a meeting with Russian Deputy FM Mikhail Bogdanov.

Discussions were also held to resume direct flights. Aeroflot used to service them (not the Lebanese airline MEA), however it requires to circumvent Western sanctions.
