“Sergeant Barak Sharabi of the Sayeret Matkal was killed in Syrian territory in 1984. His body was never recovered.”
The cause of the death was hidden; the army announced that he was killed in a traffic accident. Interestingly, Omer Bar-Lev, the minister of security, was the commander of the elite Sayeret Matkal between 1984 and 1987.

Israel: The IDF Home Front ended its investigation into the failure of the recent Iron Dome system. 20 interceptors were fired without any incoming rocket from Gaza, and none to intercept a rocket from Lebanon. It was concluded that there was a technical and operational malfunction.

Located in the town of Dbayeh, in Beirut's eastern suburb, it is the only large project of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) under construction in Lebanon. It began in Dec 2020 and will take 3 years to finish. Its cost has soared with the economic crisis. As Xinhua reported on 30 April: “When their crisis-hit Lebanese partners were unable to provide power and water as stated in a construction deal, Guo and his team purchased generators and water tanks.”
