🌲 - 🇮🇱🇱🇧 Situation Assessment: Israeli drone activity is currently widespread and intense across southern Lebanon, with at least 18 active aerial alerts reported in the past two hours over border villages including Taybeh, Rab El Thalathine, Khiam, Ain Ebel, Bint Jbeil and deeper inland across Nabatieh, Harouf, Jibchit, Arnoun, Yahmar, and Kfar Reman, as well as along the coast near Adloun, Ansariyeh, Sarafand, and Tyre. Heavy UAV concentration over the Zefta–Kawthariyet El Siyad–Nmariyeh corridor suggests active surveillance, possible target acquisition, or imminent strike preparation, while Israeli warplanes reported over the western sector indicate elevated readiness for potential airstrikes following recent Hezbollah attacks.

🌲 - 🇱🇧🇮🇱 Reports citing a military commander from Hezbollah claim the group may revert to “1980s-style tactics,” including deploying suicide assault groups in occupied areas under pre-prepared plans, with missions involving close combat against Israeli officers and soldiers in Lebanese villages under Israeli control.

🌲 - 🇮🇱🇱🇧 Israel’s Channel 12 reported that Hezbollah has increasingly shifted toward the heavy use of explosive drones as a primary weapon instead of rockets and anti-tank missiles, including fiber-optic-guided UAVs said to be resistant to Israeli electronic warfare, with an operational range of up to 15 kilometers and the capacity to carry up to 6 kilograms of explosives.

⚡️🇮🇱🇱🇧 i24NEWS: Despite the escalation in the north, IDF officials acknowledged in a closed Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee session that, at this stage, there are no plans to strike Beirut or Dahieh, under instructions from the political leadership.

During the discussion, MKs questioned what happened to the goal of dismantling Hezbollah.

A National Security Council representative replied that it remains an objective, but a long-term one.

🌲 - 🇮🇱🇱🇧 Avichay Adraee commented on the viral school incident in Lebanon, saying it reflects a growing perception that even civilians turn to the Israeli army for solutions, and that claims of Hezbollah presence in civilian sites are seen by some as plausible.

He also urged the school administration to approach the student with understanding rather than punishment, emphasizing the importance of empathy and open dialogue with children.

🌲 - 🇺🇸🇮🇷 I know many will fall for this Iranian government propaganda.

Three things:

(1) Iran is not the “main coastal State”, it shares that with Oman.

(2) Not being a signatory member of the Convention on the Law of the Sea does not exempt you from following the law when it is considered customary international law.

(3)
The US has not ratified the convention - using Iran’s logic, they cannot then be held accountable for their practices either.
In reality, Iran has no legal basis to fight the USA because the US CENTCOM is not a bunch of idiots.

🇮🇷/🇺🇸/🇺🇳 Iran to the UN:

‘Iran is not a party to the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea. Therefore, it is not bound by its treaty-based provisions.

As the main coastal State within whose territorial sea the Strait of Hormuz lies, Iran has the legitimate and legal right to take necessary and proportionate measures to address emerging security threats, ensure safe navigation, and prevent the misuse of the Strait of Hormuz for hostile or military purposes.

Any disruption to maritime transport in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, and its consequences, lie with the U.S., whose unlawful actions endanger international navigation.’

🌲 - 🇱🇧🇮🇱 Per MTV: The Israeli reports concerning President Joseph Aoun's life being threatened because of the negotiations are taken seriously inside the Baabda Palace.
However, that doesn't mean that the President would even consider backing down from the initiative.

🌲 - 🇱🇧🇮🇷🇫🇷🇺🇸 French Defense Minister Catherine Vautrin stated that “Lebanon is on the brink of civil war,” emphasizing that “Iran poses a threat to the entire world.”
Vautrin pointed out that “US President Donald Trump launched his war against Iran without informing us of it or its objectives,” adding, “Trump’s war on Iran is not our war.”

🌲 - 🇮🇷🇮🇷🇵🇰 Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has taken control of both military operations and political decision-making in Iran, according to Reuters.

Decision-making has become less centralized, with delays during negotiations, while Mojtaba Khamenei is viewed as lacking the authority to meaningfully challenge the IRGC’s influence.
