According to the Lebanese presidency and multiple reports, Aoun thanked Trump for U.S. efforts to secure a ceasefire with Israel amid ongoing cross-border tensions and Israeli ground operations against the Iran-backed shiite Hezbollah militia. Trump reaffirmed support for Lebanon and committed to pursuing a ceasefire “as soon as possible.”
