Israel’s ambassador to the U.S., Yechiel Leiter, spoke at length with the U.S. ambassador to Lebanon, promoting tourism and economic ties. Leiter said Trump’s presence in the White House and his firm stance against Iran made the meeting possible, and that Trump encouraged Netanyahu to accept Lebanese President Joseph Aoun’s proposal.
