The Poor Man’s Wealth.
Ramchand and Premchand were neighbours. Ramchand was a poor farmer. Premchand was a landlord.
Ramchand used to be very relaxed and happy. He never bothered to close the doors and windows of his house at night. He had deep sound sleeps. Although he had no money he was peaceful.
Premchand used to be very tense always. He was very keen to close the doors and windows of his house at night. He could not sleep well. He was always bothered that someone might break open his safes and steal away his money. He envied the peaceful Ramchand.
One day, Premchand call Ramchand and gave him a boxful of cash saying, “Look my dear friend. I am blessed with plenty of wealth. I find you in poverty. So, take this cash and live in prosperity."
Ramchand was overwhelmingly happy. He was joyful throughout the day. Night came. Ramchand went to bed as usual. But, to-day, he could not sleep. He went and closed the doors and windows. He still could not sleep. He began to keep on looking at the box of cash. The whole night he was disturbed.
As soon as day broke, Ramchand took the box of cash to Premchand. He gave away the box to Premchand saying, “Dear Friend, I am poor. But, your money took away peace from me. Please bear with me and take back your money."

«گفتگو با خدا» اثر رابیندرانات تاگور
تقدیم به همه علاقه مندان ادبیات جهان
I dreamed I had an interview with God.
در رویاهایم دیدم که با خدا گفت و گو میکنم.
“So you would like to interview me?” God asked.
خدا پرسید: پس تو می‌خواهی با من گفت و گو کنی؟
“If you have the time” I said.
من در پاسخش گفتم:اگر وقت دارید.
God smiled. “My time is eternity.”
“What questions do you have in mind for me?”
خدا خندید و گفت: وقت من بی‌نهایت است.
در ذهنت چیست که می‌خواهی از من بپرسی؟
“What surprises you most about humankind?”
پرسیدم:چه چیز بشر، شما را سخت متعجب می سازد؟
God answered...
“That they get bored with childhood,
they rush to grow up, and then
long to be children again.”
خدا پاسخ داد: کودکی‌شان، اینکه آنها از کودکی‌شان خسته می‌شوند.
عجله دارند که زودتر بزرگ شوند و بعد حسرت دوران کودکی را می‌خورند.
“That they lose their health to make money...
and then lose their money to restore their health.”
این که سلامتی‌شان را صرف به دست آوردن پول می‌کنند.
و بعد پولشان را خرج حفظ سلامتی می‌کنند.
“That by thinking anxiously about the future,
they forget the present,
such that they live in neither
the present nor the future.”
این که با نگرانی نسبت به آینده فکر می‌کنند.
زمان حال فراموش‌شان می‌شود.
آنچنان که دیگر نه در آینده زندگی می‌کنند و نه در حال.
"That they live as if they will never die,
and die as though they had never lived.”
اینکه آنها به گونه‌ای زندگی می‌کنند که گویی هرگز نمی‌میرند و
به گونه‌ای می‌میرند که گویی هرگز زندگی نکرده‌اند.
God’s hand took mine
and we were silent for a while.
خداوند دست‌های مرا در دست گرفت و مدتی سکوت کردیم
And then I asked:
“As a parent, what are some of life’s lessons
you want your children to learn?”
بعد پرسیدم:
به عنوان خالق انسان‌ها، می‌خواهید آنها چه درس‌هایی از زندگی را یاد بگیرند؟
God replied with a smile:
خدا با لبخند پاسخ داد:
“To learn they cannot make anyone love them. All they can do is let themselves be loved.”
یاد بگیرند که نمی‌توان دیگران را مجبور به دوست داشتن خود کرد .
اما می‌توان محبوب دیگران شد.
“To learn that it is not good
to compare themselves to others.”
بیاموزند که درست نیست خودشان را با دیگران مقایسه کنند.
“To learn to forgive
by practicing forgiveness.”
با بخشیدن، بخشش را یاد بگیرن
“To learn that it only takes a few seconds to open profound wounds in those they love,
and it can take many years to heal them.”
بیاموزند که فقط چند ثانیه طول می‌کشد تا زخم های عمیقی در دل آنان که دوستشان داریم ایجاد کنیم، اما سالها طول می‌کشد تا آن زخم‌ها را التیام بخشیم
“To learn that a rich person
is not one who has the most,
but is one who needs the least.”
بیاموزند ثروتمند کسی نیست که بیشترین.ها را دارد، بلکه کسی است که به کمترین ها نیاز دارد.

بیاموزند که آدم‌هایی هستند که
