REJECTING ADVICES

One of the calamities that we have ended normalising amongst ourselves is people rejecting advices/reminders saying,

- What about the sin that you do, leave that before telling me anything. (This is either belittling the advisor or thinking too highly of yourself)

- Only Allah can judge, you Mind your business.

Whereas the Prophet ﷺ said,

- "Arrogance is to disregard the truth and to look down upon people.” (Sahih Muslim)

- "...The most hated of speech to Allah is when one man says to another, ‘Fear Allah,’ and the other says, ‘Mind your own business!’...” (Nasaii, sahih by Albani)

ENJOINING GOOD FORBIDDING EVIL

Enjoining what is good and forbidding what is evil is one of the greatest duties that Islam enjoins upon Muslims, it is the best form of Naseeha; Allaah has made it the main quality of this ummah and a condition of it being the best of people. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

- “You are the best of peoples ever raised up for mankind; you enjoin Al-Ma‘roof (all that Islam has ordained) and forbid Al‑Munkar (all that Islam has forbidden), and you believe in Allaah” [Aal ‘Imraan 3:110]

- “The believers, men and women, are Awliyaa’ (helpers, supporters, friends, protectors) of one another; they enjoin Al‑Ma‘roof, and forbid from Al‑Munkar; they perform As-Salaah, and give the Zakaah, and obey Allaah and His Messenger. Allaah will have His Mercy on them. Surely, Allaah is All-Mighty, All-Wise” [al-Tawbah 9:71]
